Write down the amounts at each step

Before confirming, record the top-up you requested, any separately shown charge and the credited balance the page promises. Then record the currency your payment account will be charged. A displayed product estimate is a separate amount; do not use it to reconcile a wallet top-up.

Check who performs the conversion
PayPal’s US help explains that a card payment may offer PayPal or card-issuer conversion. When the issuer converts, the exact rate may only be known from the issuer or later statement; the choice is not available for every card. Use the information shown for your own account and card. Compare any displayed rate with the issuer’s applicable terms and check for separate charges. If the final amount remains uncertain, label it as such rather than claiming a guaranteed saving from changing the currency option.
Resolve a pending payment before retrying
If your payment record shows a charge but the purchasing balance has not updated, save the transaction reference and current status. Check both accounts independently. Ask official support to identify whether the payment is pending, failed or received but not yet credited before authorizing another payment.
Send support a redacted receipt, time, currency and requested amount. Do not send a complete card number, account password or one-time sign-in code. Avoid posting a payment receipt publicly while asking a community to diagnose the delay.
Check a promotion on the confirmation screen
For a coupon, record the eligible charge, minimum spend, expiry and whether it has actually reduced the payable amount. A bundle’s headline value does not tell you the saving on this transaction. If the checkout does not apply it, treat the discount as unconfirmed and ask before paying.
