Decide what you need the review to establish

A post about a slow refund can show what the author says happened to that order. It does not measure the average refund time. In one r/kakobuy discussion, the buyer asked about a refund and later reported receiving it; the thread does not independently verify every processing step.Reddit: a buyer asks where a refund is

Write down your question before reading replies: is it a seller-identification problem, a particular delivery event or an unclear service rule? Then look for evidence that answers that question. A photograph of clothing does not answer who handled the payment or how a return was resolved.

Look for context that makes the account comparable

Useful context includes the post date, destination country, named route, dates of specific parcel events and what the author actually received. A two-week delivery claim without a starting event could describe warehouse dispatch, carrier pickup or the entire purchase. Those are different intervals.

Ask for a redacted description of the relevant event, not an unedited account screenshot. Personal details are not needed to explain a tracking status. If the context is absent, keep the report as an unresolved anecdote rather than filling in the missing route or dates yourself.

Questions to ask about a community report
ClaimEvidence that would help
“Shipping took a week”Which event started the clock, which destination and which service?
“The refund worked”Was it credited to an account balance or returned through a payment method?
“Best spreadsheet”What was checked, when, and is the link promotional?

Check incentives without pretending to detect every fake

The FTC advises checking review dates, reviewer history and multiple sources. It also warns that incentives can be undisclosed and fake negative reviews can exist. Neither an enthusiastic tone nor a critical tone proves that an account is independent.FTC: how to evaluate online reviews

Look for a referral link, a discount tied to posting or a disclosure of a free product. A disclosed incentive is context to weigh, not by itself proof that the experience is false. Avoid repeating an accusation about a person or company when you cannot substantiate it.

Turn the thread into one verifiable next step

If the claim concerns storage, read the current storage rule. If it concerns a delivery scan, check the named carrier. If it concerns your own order, ask support about that order. Keep the thread URL beside the question it raised so another confident reply does not quietly become a rule.
